The Langan family

this past saturday i did a session for the langan family. rhiannon and i went to college together AND we ran the battleship half together :) bryan ran it too... but not with us! he finished and then turned around and ran back to find rhi and finished the race with us (about an extra 3 miles or so!).
anyway... we did their family session downtown. we found some fun places to shoot. we even walked up to the place they got married and took a couple outside. there just happened to be someone there who let us take a couple inside. how cool!!
love this old door... bryan spotted it!
cooper had a fun time trying to open it :)
outside the wedding venue :)inside...

thanks guys! it was fun to WALK around downtown... and not be running :)

crossover- battleship half!

i am in the middle of editing some sessions that i have done over the last few days... thus starts the busy time!! but i wanted to post this "crossover" blog about my race this weekend... so if you see me and i am hobbling around you will know why! (yesterday and today i have felt all of my 32 years and all of the 13 miles!)
i will be back to posting some more pictures very soon!

sunday was the battleship half! i did it!!! i was so proud that i was finished!
all in all it wasn't too bad. there were some killer hills (well, killer for the beach!! there is no where to train for hills here!). the first 2 weren't too bad, they were within the first 2 miles. they were big, but i still had the adrenaline from the start! the hardest part for me what the middle. mile 7, 8, and 9. i had run along ways... but still had a good bit to go. mentally they were the hardest. physically too. my knee was starting to hurt, it was just getting really tight. i took an advil at the half way point and it just hadn't kicked in yet. the last 4 miles weren't too bad... except for the giant on-ramp hill at mile 12. that was the worst. but after that, you can see the battleship and know you are in the home stretch! the only other bad part was the entrance road to the battleship. it seemed like the longest road ever! it just kept going and going and going! but then i spotted my family and knew i was almost there!! i made it in 2:08 (that is just from my watch... they haven't posted the official results yet). my goal was to make it in under 2 hours... which was a pretty lofty goal for my first half! i came pretty close :)

the official results... 2:08:16. i was 730 out of 1292!!
not bad for my first half!

i see my family!! look i am smiling!me and rhiannon post race. we ran it together! :)
all in all it was a good race! i am ready to sign up for next year!
